So after lookina at a bunch if blogs by different knitting people I am wondering how people have time to knit. I am not a slow knitter but I suffer from lack of time and I also think I am developing carpal tunnel in both wrists along with some major palm cramping.
So much knitting and office work are really does not make happy wirsts and hands.
Also looking at all these blogs makes me want to have a better blog - I am hoping to find out how to do this.
I need pictures of what I am working on and what I plan to do to start with but what else should I have. I am on a search to find out more.
The first of our troops for this tour are leaving Friday for Afghanistan with the last of the guys leaving on Feb 7. this week has been a major send off. there are rumors that the Prime Minister is coming (probably just rumors though)
My hubby had to parade yesterday Am in the snow for some lord high mucky muck. I can never remember the initials DCSS or DSCC or something like that. He didn't have to have his dress suit on he had to have his vest and helmet and combats on. He looks cute in his helmet. Friday is a big red friday day with lots of events being planned on base. I fully support our troops in what they are doing and how much they have achieved and I will be on the route they take on their drive to the airport to show my support but i think I will stay away from the base because I believe that the soldiers and their families should have this time together away from the public eye. I remember how hard it was when Brian left in '05 and how I hated having the reporters ther as we were saying goodbye.
Well back to knitting - I am currently working on socks for me, socks for my SIL, slippers for the house, and I am modifing a swetser in the current issue of Vogue Knitting. It is a cabled cardigan that ties in the front. I am knitting it in the round (I had to add 10 sts for the braided cables to work out(minor detail)) . It is going to be a vneck with 3/4 sleeves (if I have enough yarn).
I bought a new sweater yesterday at Reitmans. I am just loving it especially when it is minus 18 today (-31 with the windchill).
The cold is making it hard on the guys. Not sure if I already mentioned it but I run the office of a small plumbing company and there are frozen pipes today and a couple of the guys are roughing in a new house today. The house has no heat and no doors or windows.
Stay warm guys!
Stay safe soldiers!!
I love you Brian
